    Default Fun with Acris crepitans

Some of you may remember my dilemma with some misidentified tadpoles a few weeks back. After following the local laws properly, my four little Acris crepitans are now four little froglets.

I get a little bored with thatparticular species around here, as they are all a very boring, unattractive brown. Or so I thought...

I have them split into pairs in 5 gallon tanks. One of the tanks has a green floor in it, due to some exterior painting. The other a brown floor.

Lo and behold! The two in the green floor are developing the green patterning some of the subspecies get, the two in the brown are developing, well....brown!

They are eating very well and have graduated up to crickets and mini phoenix worms, in addition to fruit flies.

It has turned out these little guys are becoming very rewarding pets.

    (Pictures to follow...)
