Well I already have coconut shells in my frog tank I was thinking of putting gourdes in there for a holloween theme if I got some all dried out I'm in the process of pulling the gravel out now so the ACFs don't eat none

I have never heard of using coconuts or gourds in an ACF tank. I think they would work out fairly well with terrestrial frogs. Eventually, these items would break down as they become saturated with water, leaving a mess. I would "lightly" bake the items before placing them into the tank to kill any microbes or parasites. Let us know how it works.

You boil the coconut shell several times till water is cleen after a 10 min boil before you put it in the tank so there should be no microbes or parasites. As far as breaking I am not sure how long that will take but it makes a nice cave for them till it does

Coconuts hold up well because of the hard shell, but a gourd will turn into a slimy rotten mess very quickly.
