We've always stuck with just two frogs - and now that we are on the venture to finding a companion for our little Quibble...we will surely have to ship (so scary!) our new companion overnight. Given that cost, I was wondering:
Is a 33 gallon tall tank large enough for three White's Tree Frogs? I have pictures in my album of the tank. Plenty of levels of climbing areas. I know there is a rule of thumb about tank size (add an extra ten gallons for each new frog), but I can't remember the starting "tank size" :P
I don't want to get two additions if the 33 gallon is only large enough for a total of two frogs.
Little Quibble, however, doesn't know what to do with all the space! I think it's actually been overwhelming for him moving from the quarantine tank into the permanent tank (48 hours stripping it, bleaching it, and boiling it! Quite a venture). He's self-quarantined himself into a corner. I'm looking forward to him getting used it to it more and finally exploring his new home!
It should be large enough, just provide plenty of climbing areas.

Thanks John for the quick reply! Our little companions will be arriving tomorrow morning! After a 30-day quarantine, they'll be joining Quibble in the tank!
After so much heartache, it will a welcome "happy" time. I will be like an expectant mother pacing at the door tomorrow ; )
I am so happy to hear you have found 2 new friends for Quibble, congrads!! Do you know there sexes? What will you name them? Best of luck and take lots of picks!!
Best of luck! I can't wait to see pictures of the new arrivals and I hope Quibble settles into his home. Keep us posted!!![]()
"We're going to need a bigger tank"
Those were my exact words when our "little" guys arrived this morning, bright and early. Needless to say, poor little Quibble was kicked out of the main tank into a new Exo-Terra tank (purchased during a panicked trip to Petsmart upon seeing the size of our new arrivals).
Our new arrivals are not little by any means!!! In fact, they are the biggest White's I've seenSo, off I went recognizing that the "quarantine tank" was going to be WAY too small for Quibble's new companions. Then, it was about two hours of stripping/sterilizing the new tank and re-sterilizing the main tank, transferring Quibble into the new Exo-Terra, and the new arrivals into the sterilized main tank.
Everyone's settled in for the time being. Now, I'm thinking that Quibble will once again have to wait longer than the 30 day quarantine to match up in sizePoor little Quibble. All he wants is a froggie companion!!!
It's such a bittersweet homecoming though. I miss little Igby and Kibbits, but I think we are going to name the new frogs "Ori" and "Boris," as in Ouroboros...the infinite cycle of life. Little Igby and Kibbits remembered, and new friends brought home.
Here are some poor-quality pictures, but I hope to post new ones soon.
Wow, What or who have they been eating!!! Look at that belly, it's awesome!!LOL Best of luck!
