    Default Under tank heaters

I house my trio of Tinc metamorphs in a ten gal. We are heading into winter soon, and I want to make sure temps stay as constant as possible. How good do undertank heaters work at regulating temps? I would rather warm the tank that way as oppossed to a red bulb, etc. Being that the Tincs are diurnal, there is no need for an illuminated night time view. Thanks!

I have an under the tank heat mat mounted on one side of the tank. Mine is on a thermostat so it only comes on when the temp drops too low.

Clarification: mine is mounted on the side of the tank not under the tank.

Most tanks don't need any additional heat source, room temperatures are normally fine. Low 70's during the day (lights usually add a few degrees) and mid to upper 60's at night are fine. If your getting cooler than these temps a under tank heater with thermostat should work fine.
