ive been working on two of my new 29gal tanks. heres one thats will be a waterfall/ rockwall viv
thing you'll need (tools i used for eggcrate false bottom)
underside of the false bottom (before screen)
topside before screen
topside after screen
underside after screen
sliced foam before glued together and before smoothed out
some work with the dremel. so far so good. minus the pink snow
now i just have to dremel out the other 5 layers and run plumbing before the cement.

Yeah...I've been working on a similar project for about three months now and it is a time consuming project. I think from now on I'll leave it for the young ones like yourself. Remember once you're done you're not done. Then there's curing, and soaking and viniger and then then testing water run off. Ahhh....have fun with it....but it does take some time.![]()
Looking very good so far! What mix are you going to use for the cement? If you just use the acrylic fortifier then the cure time is not bad at all.

I've read that portland cement and quick crete work well. But to be honest, I haven't made a decision. The grout sounds good and I like the idea of layering in colors, then sanding it t to give it a weathered look. And I know I'm in for it lol but they look so nice and well they rock![]()
Can you guys please fill me in on how you did yours? Brand names, methods, etc?
