I have a white's treefrog, he is about the size of my thumb from vent to nose. Latley when I feed him a mealworm its like his sides kind of contract a little bit, and by the next day they are normal again. Is that just like him digesting, or is this not normal?
Mine does the same, I think it's just part of the eating process.
Okay haha that is comforting, thank you
I don't feed mine mealwroms and I hope you are feeding more than just that, as they don't make a good staple diet. That being said, I don't really watch mine eat. I put them in their feeding box and then throw in crickets and walk away. By the time I come back a few hours the crickets are gone and they are fat.
Kurt...Don't you know you're missing the best part of feeding frogs?
I am not only feeding mealworms, I feed my frog two crickets each day then on the third day or so I feed him a mealworm. Or I will feed a mealworm between running out of crickets and getting new ones. I do this because its what the pet store I bought him at did for him. Don't worry, I understand that mealworms themselves are not enough of a solid diet for them. Also, watching the frogs eat is the best part!
