We have small pots in our wtf tank rather than planting since it obviously makes cleaning easier and we didn't do an entire false bottom/drainage deal either. So we picked up one of these corner pieces. Looks pretty cool and does have holes for drainage too. Just wondering how they worked out for anyone.

I have something similar. I carved a hole into a turtle dock and siliconed it to seal it. Then poked a couple of holes through it for drainage. The hole I carved was a pretty big and deep hole...just make sure you have enough room for roots. Take a look at my photo album for my fire belly tank and you'll see the turtle dock on the left with the plant in it. It works really well.
Is that a pumice stone planter? I bought one for my friend's beardie tank. He wasted to put some succulents in but the beardie kept ploughing them over. It totally worked. I have yet to try them in my frog vivs though. I have a viv builder who make faux rocks so that's what's normally in my tanks. I would suspect they'd work great though. I found them which in vacation in my home town at a tiny nursery. Sadly I didn't buy one for myself.
I'm not sure what its made out of. My gf planted it, and its a tight fit.
If it's very light, pours, and rough I'll bet it's pumice stone. I was thinking some mosses might be able to take hold of one well if the tank was humid enough.
