Moist, so they can burrow. And it keeps the humidity up.

Eco earth(ground up coconut fiber) is cheap and perfect. keep it moist and your pacman will be happy

I keep a moisture gradient in my enclosure. IT can be too wet, you really don't need it to be saturated. I got a bunch of small rocks and such about 2 inches worth in my terrarium to act as a false bottom. That way if it becomes too saturated it will leak down and when it's drying out it will soak it up. From what i've researched about pacs, they don't always like to be in water or over watered. I keep about 1/4 of mine dryish. not sahara lol that way if he gets a bit to wet he can skeech over and be comfortable. I dont see him there often but, i've seen his lil burrow holes there before. hope this helps, my frog is really looking good, i feel as if all the reading i've done is paying off. good luck !
