I use them as an occasional treat. The problem is that the pyxies don't really respond well to them at more than 1 or 2 meals in a row (or any way close together). The staple I use is earthworms. In the US you can get these locally from Walmart and Academy.

Thanks John. Maybe I'll just use it as a treat once a week or something. I get my worms from a place that sells them as bait. I get funny looks when I tell them it's for my frogs and not for going fishing!!

Earthworms definitely seem to be a favorite with Pyxies. Mine utterly tears them up. I never mess with Shrimp, or any of the fish-type foods. Worms & Crickets seem to be the absolute best choice.

Thanks-I'm finding that as well, though my two will go for the worms and superworms before even the crickets. They have already lost interest in the shrimp for the most part-that just means there is more for me!

Shrimp only seem to work on these frogs when not used at every feeding. Superworms seem to be to Pyxies what waxworms are to Tiger Salamanders - amphibian crack.

Amphibian crack?!? Lol-I'll have to remember that. But it describes it perfectly. I'm going to stick with my dew worms and hopefully I can get my roaches to breed. If not, as long as the frogs are happy, so am I.

Roaches take a while to build up a steady supply (sometimes 6 months). Do you have any photos of the roaches and dew worms? I've never seen a dew worm.
