nuptial pads?

I noticed my little WTF has them but I thought I read somewhere that they develop them when they are mature and ready to breed. He's only 2+" so I am sure he's still very young, but he does call once or twice a day.

Male frogs usually have some semblance of nuptial pads throughout the year, even when not breeding. They usually become more apparent in some species during the breeding season (for example, they may darken).
