One of my male Pacific Chorus frogs, who is about 4 1/2 months old is already starting to croak. It's the middle of Sept.....is this typical?
Yes. As soon as they are able to sing they will. The females don't respond until November through about May. If you want them to quiet down a bit you can keep the enclosure on the dry side but they will still sing some.
Keeping it drier helps a bit..however, my male will sing day, night, wet and dry...he gets louder and more frequent the more my female, Taiki, moves around. I think she is starting to be impressed, because instead of booking for the hills, she's actually sticking right by him and therefore encouraging him even more!!
