I previously put up a video of my red eye tree frog tank and i was told that it should have some more things in there especially for them to climb on so here is the new look
give me your thoughts
Looks good to me, but I am not 100% on red eye cages
It looks better. Just remember the plants need to be able to support his weight as he crawls on top of them. Some of your plants look like shrubs or very thin delicate leaves. I'm not sure how he'll be able to use it fully. Watch what he climbs on most at night and adjust accordingly. In his natural habitat he would spend most of his time up in the trees and only coming down to soak or to catch food. Mine will sit up on the top branches looking down for crickets. They will move around up high and only come to the ground occasionally. They also prefer to sleep on the underside of large sturdy leaves. I can't tell if it is a background picture or not but it does look like you have a large leaf plant in your tank. That is what he would probably choose to sleep on. If he's sleeping on the bamboo stick then he probably doesn't have enough options. Just my opinion.
I really like it, im not experianced with red-eyed treefrogs so couldnt give you good advise but as for the look of it its cool![]()
thanks for the advice cheri i will look for a bigger plant to put in there and they seem to be lovign it at the moment. And because i dont know too much about plants what kind of plants would they like to sleep on? thanks.
I personally think that pothos is the best. They are available everywhere. They are Hardy and they grow fast. You can get a large one that already has long vines and you can trim it to what you want. You can place it near the top in your tank and sprawl out the vines or at the bottom and have the vines grow up branches. You can use zip ties or fishing line to secure it to branches if you need to. Don't be afraid about cutting the root base in half if you don't need the whole plant. This plant is hard to kill.
So jealous. I wish I had red-eye treefrogs. I have to settle for red-eyed leaf frogs.![]()
Very nice set up. That bamboo is great, I use it in my enclosure's as well. if you put two next to each other they make a great jungle gym for the frogs as well as support the plant. It's great for the frogs.![]()
Thats seems greatI have a few RETF's and they absolutely love bamboo,So adding that was a great touch. Also if you want another or replacement plant,I suggest a Pothos plant, they like to sleep on these(but with all this bamboo my baby RETF's like sleeping on bamboo more than Pothos leaf) and its suggested alot.
