    Default Frog Roommates

    I need some advice on what frogs get along with Red eye tree frogs.

    I have a 100gall tank/cage that will be made into a nice tropical cage for the frogs..But of course i will be adding more frogs.For now my red eyes are babies,so i wouldnt put them in the 100gal or else I wouldnt find them for sure! anyways i have a few questions;

    (1 Would it be okay for a Green Tree frog to live with RETF's?
    (2 Any suggestions on some friendly(in-expensive?) frogs to be in the same cage?
    (3 Any advice on this big terrarium project?[probably wont happen right now..maybe a few months]

    Not in my opinion, and most people will agree.

    I cannot recommend mixing species. This is the response you will get from most people.

    You don't give much information on the 100 gal - is there any specific area for which you want advice?

    A lot of people want to mix species of frogs because they want to see different colors in their tanks. Well, the wonderful thing about Red Eyes is that there are a few different color morphs of the same species. They come in yellow with the Albinos and Xanthic, they come in green with the normal redeye, they come in black with red eyes, and there is a guy on a different forum that has a blue one although I've never seen them for sale. The black ones are rare and expensive but do occasionally pop up now and then. And with 100 gallons you could have quite a few frogs and with different colors you could have the variety you're looking for without mixing species. Having a large terrarium with a colony of Red Eyes would be awesome.

    Adding those color morphs would be amazing! That black RETF looks very unique. I would probably get a few of them if my Red eyes are healthy for long time (or maybe if red eye babies are a success I would probably sell them and that money would go to other red eyes)

    Just a question..
    Is there anything bad about color morphs? (like unhealthy..inbreed??)
