Just wanted to comment on the pics. Great shots! I'm actually really amazed you could get that kind of closeness with the 50mm, and still retain the sharp quality. Are you cropping into the photo?

I have a 24-105, f4 and have been having all kinds of trouble getting a nice close shot. This summer I bought the Canon 5D for work because I liked the dual photography/videography aspect. Should have saved my money and just bought a bunch of iPhone 4s ; ) So jealous!!!

yeap those are from 50's, no crop. maybe its my cropped sensor (using 1000D ) makes it "zoomed" abit more compared to your full frame camera =] .

i usually use F2.8 for the frog shots . f5.6 for tank shots haha

but if you really want to get real close with 50mm ( or most other lenses ) i strongly recomend you getting this : DCR-250 Super Macro conversion lens for D-SLR camera

i use it with my 50mm f1.8 and really works well.. but the DoF is really thin

    here's what i got with 50mm + raynox : 69efan69's Gallery

and yeah, i really love the iphone4's hd video recording.. crisp!

    btw 5dmkII !?

my dreeam dream camera !! together with 135mm f2 L dream team.

    cheers!
