I currently have a tank set up for my white's tree frog, I have amphibian turf and a bunch of pieces of bark and sticks and one fake plant. I don't have a very large budget but are there any little improvements I can make to make my froggy more comfortable? I would also like to maybe add some real plants in pots to help increase humidity, any ideas for what would be some good, easy plants to use?
Ok, you might want to take out the bark it could cause impaction if he swallows some of it or it could cause sores. Also no offense but it doesn't sound like he has enough cover a real plant would be nice. Peronally i love Pothos, its durable and easily available.
No offense taken, I appreciate your constructive critisism. Okay so when I take the bark out what can be put in to replace it? Should I maybe get a bunch of fake plants before I am able to get real ones? Oh and the bark isn't like bark substrate, it is a large piece of solid bark that I have going widthwise diagonally of the tank so he can climb up it, is that still a possible threat to him?
I think Tom thought you were talking about bark shards on the bottom for substrate. I stick isn't going to hurt anything. Setting up a tank with live plants isn't really that expensive unless you don't already have the light fixture. The plants themselves, the leca for drainage, coco fibre, and moss aren't too bad but does cost somthing. If you don't have a lighting fixture just go with the fake plants for now. Just get sticks or branches for them to climb on and as many big leaf plants you can afford. Give them as many places for hiding as you can.
I would put a couple more plants in there to make him feel secure![]()
Okay guys thank you very much for all of your help I really appreciate it.
