Fake wood!

After reading Sludgemunkey's article on how to make your own fake wood I tried it. I have finished cutting into it and torching it. I used sandpaper after I torched it to male it look like real wood. I've washed it off a couple times. Do I need to coat it with something before I put it in my aquarium? I am going to be putting it in with my African Clawed Frogs.

PVC is not toxic to frogs or fish, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I would like to see photos and if you have any tips on making the fake wood, I have been temped to do this myself.
