Help to identify frog/toad

I need help to identify a tadpole that has turned into a frog/toad. We found them in a rain puddle in Arizona, There were tons of tiny black tadpoles we saved 30 of them. They are now a copper or bronze color and starting to turn into frogs/toads. Once they are frogs/toads they are still the copper or bronze color and we have had no luck finding them on the internet. They are very small and fit on the tip of your finger. We are thinking they are a Couch Spadefoot but not sure. If anyone can help I would love to hear your info. Thanks

It could be spadefoots like you think or could be one of several species of toads. Without pic's we have no way to tell though.
