Default New to Frog Forum, not new to frogs

    Hello Everybody,

I'm new to this forum, but I've kept a number of different frogs and reptiles over the last six years. Currently I have one Crested Gecko and three Ranitomeya lamasi "Orange". I am recieving two H. Lemur and one El Cope Dendrobates Auratus in early October, and have a vivarium set up for some Hourglass tree frogs that I will be purchasing later in the year. I look forward to the great info I will recieve from you guys!

Have a good day, and thanks for reading,
    Ryan

P.S. I'm located in the Texas Panhandle, if any of you are nearby it'd be great to get to know you.

Hey Ryan! Welcome to the forum!

I love crested geckos. I always see yellow ones at work (at a petstore) but last week we got a really, really pretty orange and brown one.

I cannot wait to see pics of your pets and setups! (Yes, you must include pics! )

I use to live in Texas, but it was a few hours away from the panhandle.

Welcome to the forum Ryan. It's always nice to meet another Ranitomeya fan . I've got the following:

    Ranitomeya lamasi "Standard/Highland"
    Ranitomeya ventrimaculata "Blackwater"
    Ranitomeya imitator "Varadero"
    Ranitomeya imitator "Tarapoto"
    Ranitomeya imitator "Intermedius"

The first 2 are still juveniles. The last 3 are breeding on an ongoing basis. I've got 5 young Varaderos now and another 20 or so tadpoles in various stages of development. 4 Tarapoto juveniles and 5 or 6 tadpoles behind them, and a few Intermedius tads.

By the way, I used to live in Texas (until last year) and I have spent quite a bit of time chasing amphibians between Lubbock and Amarillo, so *wave*. I live in Ohio now.

First is the picture of my Lamasi viv. Next is the future Hourglass tree frog viv, the prayer plant raised its leaves for the night and covered alot of the other plants, so it's not a great picture. Third is the H. Lemur viv, it's a work in progress, I've got some plants coming in next week, and it'll have almost a month to grow in before the frogs get here. Then there's two pictures of one of my male Lamasi, followed by the auratus viv, also a work in progress.

I hope to get some Standard Lamasi and some Varadero Imis in the future, I've also loved the colors on them.

I meant to say "I've always loved the colors on them". I was tired last night, sorry for the typo!

Welcome. There is a great bunch of folks here and quite a number who keep dart frogs. I'm new to thumbnails, having gotten a group of four Imitator intermedius a few months ago. They're awesome. I've kept and bred azureus for several years and got a sexed pair of Costa Rican green and black auratus earlier in the year.

It's always good to converse with another dart frogger. It's great to have you.

I agree, it's nice that two of the first people I meet on this forum also work with darts.

Here's a somewhat better picture of my Hourglass viv.
