How can I tell the sexes? and When will be the soonest I can definately determine this?
They morphed fully, resorbed their tails, left the pool and began hunting around mid-July. Most are around an inch + when in nap mode.
Some aready have a yellow/orange(very bright) on their back legs, is this a sure sign of a male?
I read that the females have a small "nub" on their back ends and the males lack this feature, when will this "nub" be pronounced enough to distinquish male vs female?
Some are chubby and wide,? female. While others are healthy, not as wide, but longer and narrower,? male.
Any info or other characteristics between the sexes would be greatly appreciated.
I am interested to know this as well....My family recently adopted 6 froglets....4 kept outside by pond,2 in house.
Oh and hello Charlamanda
You won't be able to sex them until they are about half adult size, and even then it won't be reliable. You'll be able to do it by body shape and appetite - both will be bigger in females.
