Keep in mind that more than likely the brown fire-bellies you see in the store are Bombina orientalis, as are the bright green ones. The European fire-belly, Bombina bombina is a totally different species and rarely seen for sale in the US. The European is a lot less red on the underside than the Asian or oriental.
Wow. So I confused the brown ones for europeans. I just remember seeing somewhere that the brown ones are europeans and green ones orientals. Though I think the europeans are brown just with a darker underside. Right?
