    Default Blaberus Sp.

Anyone have any experience keeping blaberus roaches?
I'm looking for a new roach species as feeders. My lobsters are..well.. a pain in the rear to put it simply.

Blaberus species don't climb glass or smooth plastic so they are less of a pain than lobsters, but truly almost any feeder roach is less of a pain than lobsters. I won't deal with those personally, there are better choices out there. Blaberus species make decent feeders though most of them don't seem to breed quite as well for me or handle quite as high a population density as dubias will. For this reason I tend to prefer dubia's except when I need a really huge roach, then b. fusca fits the bill.

    Thanks for the info Seth.
The reason I said blaberus was because they seem to be the next best thing to Dubias, except maybe E. Prosticus.
I've kept dubia before lobsters. I loved them but they gave me bad allergies. Itching sneezing even asthma atacks started to happen as the colony got bigger.

I would think the same thing would happen with the various blaberus species then, but allergies can be funny like that I guess. I take it the lobsters don't effect your allergies?

Not at all. I heard about B.dubia causing allergies to some people before i bought them. I just didn't think I would be unfortunate enough to be one those people.
