I Have a small species I would ID'ed also

He was found in Augusta , GA. We were at a large lake or reservoir. He is about 1/4 in. long.

Looks like a recently metamophed toad to me, possibly Bufo americanus, Bufo terrestris or Bufo fowleri. (Based on your location)

I would bet money on Bufo terrestris though, given the organization of the pigmentation spots on the dorsal side.

Hard to tell at that age for me, I have not quite developed "the eye" yet for juveniles. I am sure that a few of the more experienced here can elaborate further.

Small insects such as fruit flies, pin-head sized crickets, and springtails.

Doesn't look like americanus or fowleri to me so I agree with Johnny.
