My edulis of a few weeks has buried himself in the substrate. He seemed to slow eating then was in the water for a day. The next day he was buried eyes shut. When bumped or sprayed he just squirms further into the fiber. His eyes seem unable to open.
Is this the beginning of aestivation?
It is about 85ish with 75-80% humidity in his cage during the day. Room temp at night.
Should i just go with the flow? stop spraying and let him do his aestivation thing?
These frogs have very curious habits.
Only thing I can really think of is that I changed his temp to 80's where while his was in the pet store he was left at room temp. So maybe it got to hot compare to what hes used to?

Is he nice and fat? If so then it's no harm letting him try this for a few weeks, assuming that's what he's doing. I never aestivate my frogs though - it does not seem to be necessary unless you intend to breed them.

Thanks! Yes hes fat.
He came out today though, 3 days with "glued shut eyes". (it didn't seem like he could open his eyes if he wanted)
I think he needed to shed or something because he seems a little brighter today.
I think its going to take me a few months to get used to all the quarks this guy has.
Also thanks for letting me know they don't NEED to aestivate, its a good thing to know.
