Different but similar.

I went to a local lake today with the family and finally found and caught some native froglets. They look like Pacific Chorus frogs, but unlike the two that I already have, they have either no markings or faint markings, but still the familar eye slashes. They were found in a variety of colours, including a golden bronze colour and bright green. Pacific Chorus frogs...or not?

Yes, I would definitly say they are Pseudacris regilla (pacific chorus frog)
They are so pretty! I wish I had those amazing species so near to my home.

Sad as it is, I bought my first two in a petstore (we won't say for how much). Then one died and I tried my hardest to get another with no luck. Then a friend went camping to the coast, had one as a stowaway and gave her to me. But this is the first time I have ever seen or caught frogs near my house and I have lived in the same area for over 10 years now. Literally, every step I took there were frogs jumping out of the way. I was in heaven!!

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. My other two PCFs have markings so it was throwing me off a bit. Gotta trust my instincts!

It sure sound like frogs heaven!

This little guys came in so many patterns and colours (between green, brown and grey) that is always possible to find something new.

I never realized their colour diversity before. I was in awe. Even the brown ones were different shades! I feel bad that I brought 4 home, so I am going to have to decide to keep them or release them back at the lake. One looks like it might have gotten stepped on, so I will keep an eye on it. I found quite a few stepped on....too many clumsy people with big feet.

I love your newly found frogs! Definately Pacific Chorus frogs. I hope they are doing well. Mine actually change color several times a day from dark green, to brown, tan, and light green. Depends on the temperature and their background.

I know what you mean. Where I live I know this fishing hole that has almost every native reptile/amphibian in nj and they are bountiful. I find bullfrogs, green frogs, wood frogs, toads, tree frogs, painted turtles, musk turtles, mud turtles, snappers, a little far up ahead you can find spotteds, maps, and a few other species of animals. Including corn snakes, garter snakes, ribbon snakes, and other types of snakes. :P Its like a herp heaven!
