I'm raising just 3 treefrog tadpoles in 2 gallons of water a few inches deep in a plastic container with a floating turtle dock for them to climb onto if they are ready before I notice. Do I need an airstone?

They need oxygen. In two gallons of water, yes I would use an airstone.
