    Malachi, Sounds a little like your pixie is training you. This can happen with all pets.

    I use to feed my pixies in their cage, but now feed in a wash tub or 10 gal tank. If you really are having a hard time feeding in the 10 gal. you can cover the sides with paper to block out distractions.

    I think if you keep trying, the pixie will come around. I use a black container. This seems to have better contrast for the food items.

    Rodents of any size are fattening. Use them as an occassional treat only. Good staple diet could include: earthworms, crickets, locusts, and roaches. Happy feeding!
