Well there are a couple of ways, but the quickest and easiest thing to remember is that ornata will not really have "horns" at all, just a slight dome, cranwelli will have definite but small "horns" and cornuta will have longer and quite noticeable "horns" as will many cornuta x cranwelli hybrids. There are a number of other species too but those three are the only ones readily available in the hobby. Ceratophrys aurita may slowly become more available over the next several years as well but at the present it is either completely unavailable or extremely overpriced and is likely to remain so for the next several years at least.
