cranwelli
cranwelli
One main trait that gives away an Ornate is that they have false eye spots on the back of each eye. Only C. Ornata have these spots. C. Cornuta are very rigid and leafy in appearance and have very dark throats. C. Cranwelli is the most common of the trade and look similar to Ornates, but have completely different posture and no false eye spots. If you wish to research the different species that are commonly known here they are;
Ceratophrys Aurita
C. Calcarata
C. Cornuta
C. Cranwelli
C. Joazeirensis(Caatinga)
C. Ornata
C. Stolzmani(Pacific)
C. Testudo
Do not be surprised if you have trouble finding information on some of the species. Many are not fully studied or documented well.
Thanks Grif, I wanted to find out the names![]()
