ive had my tomato frog for a while now, since about November. after a month i noticed these grey spots around his eyes and nose so i went to the store i got him from and was told crickets had chewed on him and to put less crickets in at a time. for a while it did not get worse but now it appears to have gotten worse and he has two white bumps on his back. the bumps worry me the worse and i cant find any info about them. can anyone please help me im very worried about him.
here is a picture of him
Tomato frogs are technicaly american toads but tropical when you feed them. I feed my toads mealworms wich unlike the untrue internet rumor dont chew out of your amphibian and wont give it impaction. Mealworms are safe for your tomato frog. Give him mealworms OUTSIDE of his tank so they dont dig into the substrate. I dont feed my toads at all in there tank. I supervise the feeding and and give them apropriate amounts. He will learn you are safe and its a good way to bond. Just start feeding out side of the cage if you still dont want mealworms you can crush the back legs of the cricket to slow it down and let him go after it eventualy he will get comfotable with you feeding him and he will eat out of your hand like my toads
