Michel’s mouth is still open. I have seen him gasping. He is having trouble walking and hopping, he trips a lot. What do I do????
He’s a 6 month old gulf coast toad that I found in the wild as a baby. I’m looking in to taking him to the vet. I posted about a week ago worried about his open mouth but never saw any replies. I’ve been supplementing his diet with calcium powder and taking him outside regularly. I have been force feeding him for a week and a half as he will not eat, but he made a pretty big poop a few days ago

I'm not too sure how to care for that toad but if you are able to get it to a vet that would probably be the best way to go. What kind of supplements are you using and what are the conditions like for the animal in your care? Like what is the temperature and humidity? What feeders do you use?

Temp is around 70 and humidity is 55. I’m using calcuim powder w/o D3. Feeding mealworms, crickets and waxworms. I breed mealworms. He’s not gasping anymore and seems more stable and he shed last night.
Also just in case you were wondering, Michel is a guy. He has a blue chin and he squeaks. He also has nuptial pads on his thumbs.
He is really cute. Glad to hear he is doing better.
