Hello all,
I'm thinking of getting some Red-eyed Tree Frogs as pets, and I wanted some advice and opinions etc.
For the set-up I was going to get the following:
Exo Terra Small Tall Vivarium (45cm x 45cm x 60cm)
Exo Terra Monsoon misting system
Exo Terra Compact Canopy
Exo Terra 'waterfall'
Then for the vivarium itself, I was going to plant with real plants, and working with a drainage layer / filter pads create a shallow pebble 'pool' area at the bottom of the waterfall area.
So, my questions:
- How many frogs can I have in a set-up of that size? Would I get away with 3-4?
- What bulbs should I use for the lighting? I understand I need a UVB bulb, but I'm not sure about the other one and wattage etc.
- Do they really need light at night? If so, is there any recommended lighting that I can use?
- Is there a list of frog-safe plants I can use anywhere?
- Should I mist the set-up every day, or does this just depend on the humidity?
Any opinions on other set-ups or alternative products welcomed.
Cheers,
Andy
