Default Is this red leg disease?

Picked up a whites about a week ago. It is never active, day or night and doesn't seem to be eating much. I moved it from a plant it was hiding in(its always on the ground) and took a few pics and it looks like there are some kind if lesions on its back and some redness on its legs and underside. Its a petsmart frog, so who knows.

The back side of the legs that you pictured are normally pink in color. Its the tummy/inner thigh that would be red and irritated if he has red leg. Here is a picture of a frog with red leg. Photo credit goes to "zoofew" I hope its okay to use for educational purposes.

Give the frog a chance to settle in, sometimes it can take several weeks before they get used to their new home. I was unable to see any lesions in your pics, could you post clearer photos?

What are your temps and humidity?

Well, what I thought were lesions...the little white kinda dots kind of grouped on the back in the pics. I flipped thru an article in reptiles and it said that this is normal. Temps are in the mid 70s and about 40 to 50%. I am probably over reacting but, it was a parasite how easily does it spread from one tank of frogs to another?

Your temps and humidity seem okay. Try to maintain daytime temps between 75-85 degrees.

I would advice washing your hands between handling different tanks of animals. Use common sense like dont take a log out of one cage and put in another without washing it first...you should be fine!

Other then that your frog looks pretty healthy from what I can see in your pics!

I don't know if this is overdoing it, but our vet told us to use latex gloves when handling our frogs. Course, this was told to us when Kibbits was really sick. But I do know the secretions in our skin can be potentially harmful to WTFs. She told us to put them on, wash our hands/dry, and then spray them down with "frog safe" water before handling Kibbits. They are very cheap to get at the local grocery store (look in the first aid aisle). We've used them since just to be on the safe side.
