    Default Tadpoles from Texas

Thanks for the message and I'm looking forward to learning about the little toads and frogs that I've accumulated over the past few weeks. I have a great drainage ditch in my back yard that takes about three days to drain. The ditch fills up with tadpoles that wouldn't live more than a few days because of our hot! Texas sun. I collected at least 600 tadpoles after our last rain. They were doing fine in a little swimming pool with pond water for a few weeks but one night some carnivorous animal invaded their environment and I could only save about 70 tads. I apparently have several species of tads and three morphed today. I'm hoping that by posting some picture, perhaps some of the members can help identifying them. This should be a lot of fun for me and my grandsons for the next 2-3 weeks. Some morphed today and some haven't even thought about morphing. I'll be posting some pictures soon. Thanks again, Linda.

Welcome to the forum Linda. Given where you live, there are plenty of possibilities, but I'm good on Texas species - I used to live there. So bring on the photos .
