Last night my 6 month old american bullfrog tried multiple time to jump through the mesh lid his tank. The only way i could stop him was by turning on his light so that he would hide. Any ideas to stop this behavior without leaving the light on 24/7?
Can you describe the set up in detail? Bullfrogs are a very active species and require a tremendous amount of space to thrive in captivity. The behavior is normal and odds are you need to upgrade to a larger vivarium.
Its a 29 gallon, half land and half aquatic with waterfall filtration system
couldn't figure out how to get the image correct.
he was in a 10 gallon 2 nights before and was fine.

It might be the stress from the move. How big is you frog? (Snout to vent) a small bullfrog should be in a 40 breeder at least.
He is about 4 inches
He seems to have adjusted to his new environment. No jumping into the screen last night.
