hey i have a new frog that i raised from a tadpole. he fully absorbed his tail 3 or 4 days ago and i was wondering if i could have help figuring out what frog he is. ive seen him climb up glass so i think he is some sort of tree frog maybe? also i got him from the des moines area of iowa in a pond as a tadpole.![]()
Not sure exactly what species but I’m fairly sure that your lil guys a toad. Maybe a fowlers or woodhouses toad. There are plenty of care sheets on this site for generic toad care so if you look for those you should be ok!

It's clearly a toad. The only toad that occurrs in the Des Moines area is the American toad. Feed it lots of tiny invertebrates- I would suggest culturing fruit flies and bean beetles ASAP. They have big appetites at this stage.
100% land, with a shallow water dish, would be better. They don't mind humidity, but should not be kept wet.
Little toads can climb low shrubbery and branches quite well.
