Put a smaller roach in the enclosure and I think it will go for it. These tree frogs are voracious

Roaches like to burrow into the substrate. You may want to try an escape proof feeding dish. Or, try presenting it on tongs or tweezers.

Crush the head and lay it on its back. The legs will still wiggle, it won’t burrow and it won’t play dead.
