    Default Humidity/ Light questions

I am setting my tank up for a Ceratophrys ornata before i purchase one in a few days to make sure i can get and maintain the temperature and humidity. This is the first time i have had this type of frog, i have done my research on a number of websites, however non have mentioned how humid to keep the tank, i have read ornata need slightly higher humidity, is this true, if so how humid should i have the tank?

Also the tank i have came with a UV light, I have read this would be suitable but with a low UV light, does anyone now what watts (or whatever its measured in, not that technical with lighting lol)

Thanks in advance for your advise and help!

I don't "believe" in UV lights for most captive frogs so I would just get a different bulb for it - something in the "daylight" range - 5000-6800 K.

Humidity levels - at least 70%, preferably over 80%. They spend a lot of time in the substrate so you don't have to worry about air humidity so much - just make sure you regularly water one end of the tank's substrate, so there is a moisture gradient.

There is this light I used to use on my frogs a long time ago but I cant find the brand anymore on my stores. I know they still sell them elsewere though. Its called naturesun? I think thats the brand? Anyways it was a long tubed bulb and the carton was green. My frogs didnt mind that light and it did some good for my plants. I dont know if itd be useful for you. But I thought I should have mentioned it. Good luck.
