Hello,
My American Toad has been ill for the past month. She was less active and had red spots on her belly for about a week. She hasn’t eaten at all in the past three weeks, whereas normally she has a daily ravenous appetite. She burrows all the time now and hides for days at a time. She has absolutely no interest in food. I’ve had her for over two years. Also, her mouth and tongue are white (and not the usual pink color).
Any ideas for how to treat her?

Ideal of course would be to get her to a herp vet. Can you post a photo of the red spots? Several things come to mind with the red spots besides red leg. Has anything changed in her enclosure? Is the substrate pretty clean? Did she have a diet change? The whitish mouth might suggest anemia but from force feeding our toad with MBD, have noticed that his tissues are not very pink in his mouth. Does your toad get calcium and vitamins regularly? Eliminating at all? Temp warm enough to prevent hibernation? Hope your toad is back to normal soon.
Just checking back to see how your toad is doing. Have you tried giving her reptiboost ( you dissolve some powder and gently open the toads mouth and put in a little bit). It provides vitamins and energy.
