    Default Pyxie Croaking

Last night my male pyxie croaked three times at 1:00 am in the morning. It was just the coolest thing to hear first hand the power of an African Bullfrog's croak.

    Very cool. Congrats.

Was there anything that set him off?

I just love that sound myself! Gherkin usually makes noise once or twice a week, especially if the weather is rainy. I could listen to him all day!

It was completely quiet, he just decided to croak! I have learned that he is very weird. He just does things whenever he feels like it.

That's so cool TJ. I dont keep Pyxie's but I can relate, It's exciting and you just want them to do it again so you can sneak up and watch him. To me I feel that its also a sign that they must be happy.Yah

If it's a male, you could hear it croaking as early as 4 inches (10 cm) long, age not being very relevant. However, adults should croak quite regularly. The thing is, it's a low sound that doesn't travel very far, so he may be croaking and you've never noticed.

If it doesn't sound like the care article sound then it's not a croak.

Mine does that. That is more of an angry sound.
