    Default my african clawed frog

Hey i just got this albino clawed frog, I keep him in this 15 x 9 container with 4 cm of water. The frog is about 4.5 cm large and I feed him pieces of fish and sometimes pellets. I also put some hiding areas for him. I think the container isn't quite healthy for him so Ill put him in my fish tank sooner or later. PLs comment if I could do better or just some feedback.

Keeping African clawed frogs is quite easy. They require at least a 10 gallon tank for proper growth. Keep the water temperature around 70 degrees (F). They do not do well at warmer temperatures. Water quality is very important. Keep the water clean and conditioned with a product like Stress-Coat, pH about 7.0. ACFs are both scavengers and predators, so you don't need live food, although the frogs will appreciate an occasional worm. I feed my frogs Repto-Min and they do very well. Sexing the frogs is fairly easy, the males will have blackened nuptial pads on the fingers, the female will have a large cloaca bump between the hind legs. They will become sexually mature between 9 months to a year, females are larger. Both males and females call. You will find these frogs to be a bit messy, so make sure you clean-up after them. They can live 15+ years. I have been keeping ACFs for over 40 year and I think they are the best! Good luck with yours!
