I am the OP, still looking for advice on caring for this guy. I've moved him to a more sterile tank, half de-chlorinated water and half flat rock covered by wet paper towels. There is also a large plastic plant he hides under. So far he is moving around, hanging in the water or on land. He hasn't eaten or pooped yet. Help?Name: 20180912_194721.jpg

Not eating might be from stress and a new home. How does the wound look now? Is it healing.

It is healing very well. It has been a month now and he still won't eat. He is receptive to gentle forcefeeding, so I've been giving him wax worms, and he is pooping so he is getting some nutrients but I'm still worried.
Hes still in a small hospital tank, land/paper towels on one side and water on the other and he is getting quite active, but I want to see him hunt. I've tried crickets, wax worms, night crawlers and super worms. He ignores them all.

Sometimes when the weather changes frogs go off their food due to natural cycles in the wild. Especially because you rescued him, he may be preparing to hibernate with winter coming. This guy looks pretty big, he may be some type of bull frog but I'm not positive!
