I'm not good at gardening (vegetable) so I couldn't feed myself if I was a pioneer and I guess I'm not any good at growing food for amphibs either. But I'm persistent.... I did manage to hatch two batches of pinheads (after two overheated batches) then the next batch failed. I mixed up a complicated batch of fruit fly stuff and it hardened to rock consistency. So I followed a recipe I found on here and added a large bunch of hydei. Today there are about 3 crawling around in each of 3 containers and the rest are dead and buried in the goop. But, I shall not give up.....in the meantime I keep a running tab on crickets at the pet store.
Which fruit fly recipe did you try? My one works very well for me and others.

I used the one by Paul which is listed at beginning of this topic. I used coffee filters instead of excelsior. Which one is yours?
