Hi all, I was wondering if you need a wire lamp to use a ceramic heat emitter or will a standard domed lamp do just fine? Also, will it overheat or shorten the life span of the CHE?

The dome has to be large enough, but it will direct the heat better.
Okay, thank you very much.

Ceramic heat elements get very hot so it’s wise to purchase a fixture with a ceramic socket. The cheaper dome lights have plastic sockets which melt easily.
