Being raised in a weird family. We fight for food. Even if there is enough. I think its just each member trying to show their place in the family? xD I dont know. Sometimes my family behaves like animals. Had you been raised under the same roof youd best guard your plate. Especially when my grandma is cooking. I remember my brother would try to snatch food from my plate and I would grab a fork and stab it against the table(not really going to do it onto him but more of like a harmless threat) it was kinda funny because when I was trying to fend him off my other brother would snatch tortilla off my plate. It was hectic. Though I was 5 so yeah. So they had to make sure there was plenty extra food. But then I guess thats how brothers behave? Anywho our grandmas cooking was the best meals we ever had we joked about my moms cooking. Since shes not the best of cooks. Well back then it was terrible. Now its better and good. But its weird I guess. Cause my dad was also the better cook of the two. So whenever we go to puertorico I think my dad will be the one cooking. That being since my grandma is in no state of any kind of work. Shes long overdue for a break. Funny thing about puertorican grandparents and elderly is. For the most part they like to work. My grandma always would stuff my plate with food. But I guess I now know why. I did'nt mind though it was very good.
I also remember how people let their dogs lose. So if someone wanted a dog. All you had to do is go out in the streets and look for strays. :P thats what we used to do. We always took strays. We only had three bought dogs. But the strays only lasted a year in our home before we relocated them. I guess it was our own thing? We fostered them I guess? I remembered how I got into reptiles. See when I was 10 I got my first personal pet. You know how a dog is a family pet? Well my brothers had goldfish as their own pets. One of my brothers had an angelfish which didnt last long since he had it only in a 5gallon tank. I had a betta fish. Back then I barely knew anything. I just knew facts about fish and such. Then my passion for animals grew stronger. When I became 12 my dad promised me my own pet when we get to america. Which was when I finished 8th grade. Turning 13. The first few months of moving in we went to petstores just to browse. I saw hamsters and I wanted one but I waited more because I wanted to see all my options. Then when I went to nyc. I saw this adorable red eared slider. It was the smallest of its kind. SO I bought it. I didnt know much about its care. But my dad prefered aquatics over land animals. So we placed it in a 10gallon aquarium. After 3 years he grew big. So we put it in a 40breeder. Then we went to my grandmas house and took pictures of him. Which we then saw a coqui. We went to el yunque. Oh if you ever return there. Nothing beats roasted pork. You should also go to this park in manati it has these huge puertorican sliders. I went there since I was 2years old. The turtles grew bigger by the time I was 13. Also you should fly kites in san juan. Theres also el banario de fajardo. Its very pretty.
