Yes there are alot of coqui species. The most common one is I THINK the brown coqui? Which is also found in hawaii. Its an invasive species over there. I THINK they arent protected. I dont know. All I know is Id like to get my hands on a few of them.
I visited mainly cause of my gramma that has alzheimers and she was in very bad care. Her husband didnt care for her and she lost her memory for 3 weeks. She was in poor conditions, my uncle took her to the hospital and now she resides in a home for the elderly. Which to be honest when I get old Id probaby like to live there myself.
She gets 3 square meals a day and not like the ones that are crappy made in a normal elderly home. They home make the meals and it even smells good. They make sure she has everything. Lol. We made sure shes pampered and well taken care of. Hopefully for the best nothing happens.
This also means I and my family gets to go to puertorico every couple of months. Everything over there is beautiful. The scenery is beautiful, the people are beautiful, everything over there. I went to the beach I saw a coqui but it was out of reach. It was when I learnt to swim. We were crabbing. We were heading back and we saw one. It was an inch big or so maybe less? But it was on a wall. We heard it and thats how we saw it.
They make calls throughout the year. When I start a family of my own Ima buy a summer house over there. I guess in the mean time Ill try taking pictures next time I go. Though I did take two decent pictures of it.
Best part about it is how you got alot of things to do.
I went quading, herping(found snakes, and lizards), crabbing, swimming, etc.
I noticed for the people who cant swim if you go to the beach called "el banario" you dont have to know how to swim. I think its the water density that helps you float. I was like floating around in the water I didnt even realize it. After a while I even learnt how to swim (doggy style?)
Anywho it was very fun. if you ever return visit fajardo. :P Also if you ever wanna eat good food. Somewhere I think its in Hato rey. Or was it luqillo? I forget. But theres this REALLy nice criolla reust. Its runned by this very thin woman and this guy. Its part criolle and part chinese reustarant. Its really good though and its fancy to an extent. Though it has these annoying lights. Like on the two corners its bright red then it goes to light blue then to yellow.
I never got to see the cane toads for some reason. Maybe their not there anymore?![]()
