Just curious, where do the majority of you Feed your Pacman frogs? In their enclosure? or in a separate critter-keeper type container?
And what time of day or night do you feed your frog?
I feed in the enclosure with tongs to insure that nothing is left behind. I’ve tried to use a separate container for feeding but it seems to scare the frog and they don’t eat. I mostly feed in the evening after I get off work.
I always take mines out and feed in a separate container. I guess it's just personal preference.
We used to feed my hubby's pacman in its enclosure, but I'm now trying to get as many of my frogs to feed in a feeding box instead. Works fine for my rubber frogs and my pixie. Not so for my dendrobatids and very jumpy tree frogs.
I feed mine in the enclosure. I put in a few crickets or roaches at night before bed, then whatever hasn't been eaten the next morning I take out. They're nocturnal hunters so night time is definitely the best time for feeding. I have yet to try tong feeding with worms but am working on getting the courage to mess with worms. I've tong fed a few to my firebellies before and they just gross me out lol.
I definitely get the sense that he does not like being fed in the Critter Keeper. However, yesterday when in his enclosure, he did eat a Dubia for me. I was pleased.
He loves Horn worms. I'm alot more comfortable with Hornworms than I am with roaches. Nightcrawlers are also a good food for him.
I feed my guys and gals in there enclosure with tongs about an hour after lights out and once the temps drop a few degrees. And the only light in the room is abit of light that comes through the crack in the door from the other room, just enough so I can see were they are. I have never had a problem doing it this way and I have been doing this routine since they were all babies. They are nocturnal so the best time to feed is at night in the dark, not saying you cant feed during the day but you will more then likely get the best feeding response at night.
Ok, but most likely I will have to dig him up first in order to feed him, as he is always buried under the substrate. I'll try feeding at night and see what his response is. Thanks.
