Hello everyone, my whites tree frog has a lump on his back. He has had this lump for about a month I'd say, and I think it might be a tape worm. He also has a wound on his leg which is visible. He has had to have gotten it recently as I noticed it just yesterday while feeding him.
Does anybody know how I can fix both of these problems? Thanks
This is a situation which needs vet intervention. If it is a parasite living beneath the skin, it will need to be cut out and removed. Is that pus coming from the wound? Or is it some shed skin?
It’s very unlikely that the mass is a fat deposit. Frogs develop fat deposits within the body cavity. I agree with Bynny Ribbit that a vet visit is in order.
How is he? Is he still alive?
Sorry for not responding for so long. Yes, he is still alive. The lump gradually went down and now it's gone. The wound is also just about healed and he looks the same as he did prior to getting the lump and wound (except for a very small scar where the lump was). To be honest, i wasn't very worried about this because he is my most voracious frog, and he's always fat and active at night.
Thank you for the update, glad he is doing so well!
