at what age can i assume that jasper my 6-7 month old pacman frog is a female? she hasn't croaked and doesn't have a nuptial pad. i tried to take pictures of her front legs around her thumbs but it was stressing her out so i put her back.![]()
It's difficult to say since various factors can affect sizing and them reaching sexual maturity. What I have read states waiting until they are a year old and looking at their size. Males (full size about 4.25 in) will always be a little smaller than females (about 5.25 in). There will of course be outliers, but this is apparently a good way to tell when other indicators aren't present. Some factors which can alter sizing is feeding frequency and amount, which can push a frog to reach its full size a bit faster or slower depending.
thank you, she has been eating a very good especially for the last month or two. she eats 3-6 nightcrawlers or hornworms a week. i tried silkworm didn't like them. she is growing very well she hardly ever refuses food
She looks great, keep it up!![]()
Thanks, years before I got her I started researching and lurking on this site. So I hope to continue to learn.
