Spanish Moss- Safe for Whites or no?

Hi All,

Like the title says, could I use spanish moss in my vivarium hanging from a branch, or would there be some risk I'm not thinking of?

Spanish Moss has little red bugs called chiggers in it. They bite humans and cause rashes, so I don't think it would be a good idea to put it in your tank.

Yes, spanish moss hangs from the great southern Oak tree here in Ga. i happen to have several in my back yard, my little brother was climbing them (even though i warned him not to) and i heard him screaming around 15 minutes later, he was ATE UP,
he had them crawling all over his body, so i had to take him to the hospital because he wouldnt stop crying about it..

they were little bity bugs but there were so many on him that i could see them plainly.
after i hosed him off with the garden hose lol
i took him... the dr. said hes never seen this bad of a case... it was a crazy day i tell you

i just thought id share that with yall..
