I plan on doing a planted low light tank, but i'm not sure if root tabs are safe for ACF.

Caution as root tabs may contain traces of copper & Iron! These metals are very harmful to frogs, also if you root tabbed I would be concerned you were unable to siphon gravel clean weekly!! You can however still plant hardy plants which require limited care Ie types of NUBIUS and Java moss are good options # my NUBIUS are pinned to a log and last anywhere from 6mths to 9 maths before calling it a day! But you must keep there leaves fresh a toothbrush over the leaf weekly so no algae can fix and block light
